​Some people know what they want.  That's great and speeds up the process but most want to discuss available products and the benefits and downsides of each finish.  We are happy to provide samples of surface finishes, railing styles and colours, bracket and hardware trims and so on.  

We work with many quality material suppliers and rarely find ourselves in big box stores.  With composites, special woods and  railing samples on hand, it is no problem to get ideas and make decisions to get started.  When budgeting, it is a good idea to compare the products and stay within the price range that has been determined by you.

​Decks and structures can be any size you imagine.   We will help design it for the area you want to add to.  Custom outdoor structures should look beautiful and at the same time, meet your functional requirements.  Add a pergola or roof or outdoor kitchen.

Preparation for Cedar and Pressure Treated New Decks - Staining and Sealing to Make Your Deck Last

​When your deck is finished, you should consider sealing your new deck with stain and sealer.  Colours range from clear to black.  ​There are many types of sealants and stains to choose from , however, we vigorously recommend CUTEK EXTREME transparent products.  Solid stains tend to peel and flake over a short time, Cutek does not when applied using our program.  

Solid stains tend to cover wood grains and actually harm wood in the long run as they tend to have a smothering effect, keeping moisture in.  Oil based stains build up resistance to water damage the more you apply it as the oil continues to be retained. With our oil finish program there is likely no sanding when refinishing may be  required   

Hardwoods such as IPE require a slightly different sealing process.  We never recommend covering cedar and hardwoods with solid stains, it would be a waste of beautiful wood.
